Suscipe*

My God,

I am yours for time and eternity.

Teach me to cast myself entirely

into the arms of your loving

providence with the most lively,

unlimited confidence in your

compassionate, tender pity.

Grant me,

O most merciful Redeemer,

that whatever you ordain or

permit may be acceptable to me.

Take from my heart

all painful anxiety;

suffer nothing to sadden me but sin,

nothing to delight me but the hope

of coming to the possession of you,

my God and my all,

In your everlasting kingdom.

Amen.

Catherine McAuley

*The Suscipe was written by Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy.   It is found in some of her original manuscripts.   The prayer was also titled “Act of Resignation” in one of the manuscripts.  This is a traditional prayer used by Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Associates in the United States and other countries.

Prayer Intentions

The Sisters of Mercy keep a prayer intention book in their chapel.   The Sisters check this on a frequent basis and pray for the intentions listed in this book.  If you have specific intentions you would like prayed for, please submit them to us for special attention.   We will place the request in the prayer intention book:   prayers@mercycr.org.
