My husband and I are both obese and I HATE to cook. I am curious if you know of any personal chefs in town that would prepare a week's worth of HEALTHY meals ahead of time and tell us what to eat and when. Right now we eat out a lot and eat a lot of TV dinners, which are both poor choices. Even the 'easy recipes' are not that easy and are a pain. Please advise. Julie - Cedar Rapids
I was wondering if I might be able to set up an appt with you for my son and daughter sometime soon. My son is 7.5 yrs and overweight, 90lbs. Our Dr. has shown some concern, but just encouraged more exercise. We'd like to get more of a plan set up with him though. My daughter is 10.5 months and underweight. She's breastfed and just really started with solids. She's 16.5 lbs and the Dr. was showing a little concern about her weight as well. Please let me know what we can do to set up an appt with you. I am currently in my third year as a dietetics student at Iowa State University. I was wondering if you offer job shadowing opportunities. I tried emailing Suzanne Lewis, but the email I sent kept coming back to me as undeliverable, so I have decided to try this instead. I am currently looking into internship programs and I would like an opportunity to see the work of a clinical dietitian. I am from the Cedar Rapids area and I will be home over my winter break from Dec. 17-Jan 11. I would love the opportunity to gain a better understanding of a dietitians job in a clinical setting. I understand there are patient confidentiality laws that I must abide by and I am willing to take any quizzes or fill out paperwork to allow me this opportunity. This past summer, I worked for a dietitian at Marion HyVee. In this position I was HIPPA certified in order for me to sit in on consultations. I am also a Certified Nursing Assistant so I understand the importance of confidentiality. I am available over my winter break from Dec. 17-Jan 11.
